How Is WWE Changing Randy Orton vs. Batista?

The main event for WrestleMania XXX looks very uncertain now that Batista has become a heel.

The WWE‘s original plan for WrestleMania XXX was Batista facing Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. They assumed that fans would cheer the returning Batista and gladly see him beat up the cocky Orton. They felt Batista reached the same type of popularity as the Rock.

The WWE thought wrong as fans started to boo Batista on a weekly basis. Many people thought that Daniel Bryan would be added to the main event to make it a triple-threat match. This isn’t happening either because Bryan will be facing Triple H at WrestleMania XXX from the looks of things.

The other person fans had in mind was adding CM Punk. Online reports suggested Punk would be back on Raw as the hometown hero. Well, that didn’t happen and all hopes of Punk returning to wrestle at WrestleMania XXX has now been dashed.

With Punk gone and Bryan in another match, who else can the WWE add to the match? I highly doubt that they will go through with Orton vs. Batista because both men are bad guys. Batista isn’t like John Cena as Cena still gets booed, but is still technically a babyface. Batista is a full-blown heel and so is Orton. Something needs to change here.

It’s possible that Bryan could be added to the match after he beats Triple H at WrestleMania XXX. Bret Hart did a similar thing at WrestleMania X when he won the title back in 1994. He wrestled Owen Hart at the start, and then again in the main event against Yokozuna.

Orton vs. Batista looks bad at this stage. It may not be as horrendous as Cena vs. Miz from WrestleMania 27, but it’s still bad from a fan perspective. Someone as popular as Punk and/or Bryan needs to be inserted to this match as soon as possible.
