The WWE is interested in introducing an all-new tag-team division that will focus on three-man teams.
The Shield debuted in a hot way when they came in at Survivor Series 2012. They challenged everyone, even teams consisting of John Cena, Randy Orton and Undertaker. Their matches were awesome, and they made Raw and Smackdown in 2013 exciting. If they weren’t around, those shows would have been boring.
In the middle of 2013, another three-man team debuted as The Wyatt Family invaded. They were just as strong as the Shield and always put on decent matches as well. Their matches against the Shield this year have been great and are early Match of the Year contenders.
With so much talent on the roster right now, the WWE should invest in a new three-man tag team division. There are so many talented guys they have who aren’t doing anything. Dolph Ziggler, Damien Sandow, Tyson Kidd, Kofi Kingston and even Sin Cara could benefit from this new division. Even the jobber team of 3MB could be added to the mix along with Zack Ryder and The Miz as well.
If a three-man tag team division goes ahead, it shouldn’t really negate the two-man teams. The Usos are doing great and can still have great matches with the likes of Cody Rhodes and Goldust. There is also Ryback and Curtis Axel as well as Los Matadores who are still two-man teams.
Hopefully the WWE considers introducing a three-man tag team division as it’s fresh and something innovative. Not to mention, it would allow more wrestlers to have TV time too.
