Christian could be on the verge of retiring from professional wrestling for good judging by his recent injuries.
He is now 40 years old going on 41. He’s been wrestling for two decades now and has been a really good worker over the years. Some might say he’s yet to cement his legacy, but his body cannot handle the intense WWE schedule much longer it seems. I think it’s best Christian takes a step back to decide what’s best for him next.
Christian came back recently from a shoulder injury earlier this year. He was out prior to that with an ankle injury and a concussion. Now he suffered yet another concussion and was unable to compete at the Main Event. It was described as a minor concussion so there’s some hope that he can make it to WrestleMania XXX. He’s already missed WrestleMania 28 and 29 due to injury as well.
Christian is becoming like Rey Mysterio with all the injuries piling up. I like both wrestlers, but they are starting to get really fragile as time goes by. Some might say this is due to their fast style of wrestling. They bounce around more than wrestlers like John Cena and Randy Orton.
There was talk a few months ago that Christian’s current contract is up very soon. It’s possible he could choose to retire then or may stay with the company on a part-time basis. It would be cool if he became an NXT trainer. That way he can still wrestle when he wants to much like Road Dogg and Billy Gunn are doing right now.
