What’s Next for WWE’s Cesaro?
At WrestleMania XXX, Cesaro provided one of the most impressive moments of the night when he power-slammed Big Show over-the-top rope to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. It was an obvious reference to the notorious Hogan-Andre match at WrestleMania III and was a great way to end a battle royal created in memory of one of the biggest legends in the history of the company. But now that he mimicked this great moment, what is next for the superstar who is obviously on his way to a huge push?
Cesaro is somewhat of an internet darling due to his days in the independent circuit as Claudio Castagnoli. He got the attention of hardcore fans due to his technical abilities in the ring and did some great heel work in both RoH and the WWE. Now that he has a memorable moment and won the first of a historic event, he will undoubtedly get a great push, especially since The Real Americans are almost for sure broken up.
Cesaro is a guy who can continue a feud for more than one PPV. Just like the Randy Orton-Daniel Bryan feud of 2013, Cesaro can fight for a title for consecutive PPVs and keep the crowd interested. So we could definitely see Cesaro fighting for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship with new champion Bryan. This could be a feud that goes on in the stretch of PPVs immediately preceding and succeeding Summerslam, Battleground and Night of Champions. Cesaro needs to get a world championship match soon, considering his popularity is very high right now.
This is not to say that Cesaro is in desperate need of a title match or even a title, but his popularity and character would definitely improve if he got into a good feud for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
