WWE: CM Punk’s Departure Caused By “Injury”?

On Tuesday, the script to Monday Night Raw was leaked online and it revealed a little bit of information on CM Punk. At the bottom of the page showing the list of heels and faces, Punk is under a miscellaneous group of superstars which includes Triple H, Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker. Next to his name, Punk is listed as “injured – to be determined.”

This sheds a little bit of light on which rumors are false and which ones may be closer to the truth. Any source mentioning injuries are probably the closest to Punk’s true status. At this moment though, it will be a while before we know what really happened.

When Paul Heyman talked to Sam Roberts at Wrestlemania XXX Radio Row, he mentioned that the only people who know the truth are CM Punk, Triple H and Vince McMahon. Heyman also said to Roberts that before Punk left, he was last seen in a room with McMahon and the Game.

Heyman might be on the short list of people who know the truth, but he isn’t the type to blab his friend’s private life all over the internet. I respect that more than if he were to let us all know the exact reason for Punk’s departure. It’s nice to know friendship is still a thing.

Another notable entry on the leaked script is the status of Punk’s soon-to-be wife AJ Lee. Her name is also listed as “injured – to be determined.” I would assume the two of them are using this time off to plan their wedding. If this is the case, then good for them.

Wrestling takes such a toll on your body mentally and physically so it’s nice to see that two of the WWE’s top stars are actually putting life before the business. Wrestlers never seem to do this and as a result, many end up broken down like Mickey Rourke’s character in The Wrestler. As much of a fan I am of Punk and AJ, I would rather they got their life sorted out instead of breaking it for me on TV.
