The Rock took his WWE career to the next level when he became a villain way back in 1997. Now he might try to do the same with his movie career.
Dwayne Johnson is no doubt one of the top film stars in the world today. He’s body slammed the box office on multiple occasions over the past couple years, but what’s next? With the ‘Fast’ movies likely coming to an end, Johnson will no doubt have to branch out for future mega-roles.
Well, the People’s Champ gave a clue to World Entertainment News Network about a possible future role in a recent exchange:
“I would love to be a Bond villain. I am a huge fan of Daniel Craig and the Bond movies but it seems only right to follow in my grandfather’s footsteps as a Bond baddie.”
Johnson is referring to his grandfather Peter Maivia, who appeared in 1967’s You Only Live Twice.
The next Bond film is set to start filming in October, but Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) is already rumored to be the top bad guy. However, we all know that Bond movies will continue to get made as long as films exist, so there’s plenty of time for The Rock to realize his dream.
Some will question if he’s right for the ‘bad guy’ role at this point in his career, but anyone who watched him as a heel in WWE during the late 1990s can tell you that he’s more than qualified to be a top villain.
People naturally want to cheer Johnson, but he can still be a huge a-hole if he really wants to.
