Goldberg hasn’t wrestled in WWE for well over 10 years now. However, he’s interested in coming back for one more match at WrestleMania 31.

Goldberg’s last WWE match was in 2004 when he wrestled Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX. The match was atrocious, mainly because (at the time) it was thought to be both men’s last ever professional wrestling match ever. Lesnar was sick of the brutal WWE schedule and wanted to try his hand in the NFL. Goldberg, on the other hand, was sick of the things going on behind the scenes at WWE and never signed a new contract. Both men just went out there, collected their paychecks and left.

Fast forward to 2014 and things have changed. WWE is trying its best to bury the hatchet with a number of former wrestlers. Goldberg listened and a DVD was made celebrating his entire career. As for Lesnar, he retired from UFC and now has a lighter schedule. Not to mention, he’s had a monster push since he came back and even broke Undertaker’s WrestleMania winning streak.

If Goldberg wants to wrestle at WrestleMania 31, I wonder who he would face? It was speculated this year he’d face Ryback. This never happened as Goldberg wasn’t really interested and Ryback is a jobber now. It’s unlikely Goldberg would face Undertaker at WrestleMania 31 either due to Undertaker’s physical condition.

Goldberg could face Lesnar again, but fans wouldn’t want to see that. Even if both men give 100 percent this time around, fans are likely to boo them. Goldberg could face The Rock again, although that would depend on Rock’s Hollywood schedule.

The only person I think that’s right for Goldberg to face is Roman Reigns. Reigns has been built up as one of the company’s big future stars. Not to mention, he uses the “Spear” move just like Goldberg. It would be a good match to see if WWE is willing to go that route.
