WWE Payback is set to take place from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL on June 1, 2014. Because the event will go down just mere minutes from CM Punk's home, much of the speculation will be about his possible return. It's unlikely to happen, but never say never.
Besides a potential Punk return, here are seven matches that could very well take place at the event:
BNB is going to be in action at Payback. It's just a matter of who will challenge him and eventually lose this IC title bout. Dolph Ziggler would be a solid choice based on his in-ring ability and WWE's love for burying him.
You can tell that this feud is just getting started. Both guys have obvious connections to Paul Heyman and their matches will only continue to get better over time.
You can pretty much take this one to the bank, besides the stipulation. Round two of Evo vs. Shield needs to have something added to it, so maybe make it an elimination match to help build tension between the last two men standing (HHH and Roman Reigns)?
The Usos seem to have taken a step back lately, but they'll be back in the spotlight for Payback. No one would complain if there was a three-way dance between them, the Rhodes brothers and Rybaxel.
This is another match you can take to the bank, and yet another case of a stipulation to be determined. Casket, I Quit and Last Man Standing matches should all be on the table.
It's tough to say where WWE is going with the US title. Will it be unified? Will someone like Sheamus continue to carry it at the mid/lower card level? One option would be to put the title on Rusev as he continues to squash people over the next couple of months.
A Buried Alive Match is the number one rumored bout for Bryan vs. Kane II. It makes sense because the feud has to reach a new level at Payback, and because it ties into Kane's masked character. There have been better main events and there will be far worse. This is what you get with a WWE June PPV -- nothing too special.
