Will Bill Goldberg Return To The WWE?

In a recent interview with WWE legend Jim Ross, Bill Goldberg stated that he let WWE officials know he is interested in returning in the near future if they can come to a mutual agreement. It is now a waiting game, but the news about Goldberg’s return has the internet buzzing already.

As always, some are happy and some do not wish to see the once-dominant superstar return to the ring, mostly because of the bad taste he left in fans’ mouths after his initial departure from WWE programming.

Goldberg even went into details about which superstars he’d like to be matched up against if he did indeed make his long-awaited return to the ring. A few names that popped up were Roman Reigns, Triple H and Brock Lesnar. Goldberg stated that he’d like to feud with Reigns because both men played college football in the state of Georgia.

Personally, I believe the matchup that would receive the most attention is Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar. Both men went on to legendary stretches during their short-lived careers in the company, and both men are about even in strength and popularity.

Goldberg vs. Triple H would be a good bout, in which HHH would have to carry the workload because of Goldberg’s limited in ring skills. Even then, it is a match that I wouldn’t be all too interested in watching, especially since there are better options out there.

An obvious matchup that everyone may want to see is Goldberg vs. Ryback. Ryback is mocked by WWE fans as the guy who stole Goldberg’s gimmick and failed miserably — something I can agree with. If this isn’t billed as a big pay-per-view matchup, then the WWE should at least make this Goldberg’s first match back in the WWE, allowing the original powerhouse to dominate Ryback.

The waiting game now begins, and WWE fans are anxious to see where this goes. Hopefully, we’ll soon see him return to the ring and dominate like it was 1997.

Not sure why I’m commenting on this since there’s not a whole lot to comment on with this article. However, I did come across something that isn’t accurate in this article and is nothing more than the writers opinion…
Saying that Triple H would have to carry the in ring match because Goldberg lacks the in ring skills is a joke… I’ve watched Triple H since the first day he debuted in wrestling. The guy has about 6 regular moves and not much else… Face buster, Powerslam, Various punches, the Pedigree, Headlock, kick to the stomach. Goldberg on the other hand… Spear, Jackhammer, Clothesline, various punches, ankle lock, Shoulder breaker, powerslam, full body press slam, figure 4, Karate high kick, stomach kick, small package, 2 foot drop kick, backbreaker, Firemans carry combined with over the shoulder powerslam, and 3 or 4 other submission moves and counters. Goldberg’s biggest problem when he wrestles, is he isn’t the best seller in the biz. Triple H is better at that part of it.
