CM Punk has finally let the cat out of the bag regarding his status with WWE. In a recent interview with the Red Eye Chicago, Punk stated that he considers himself retired from the business which may signal that he may never wrestle again. His status in WWE was up in the air since his departure earlier in the year. He left WWE officials, fans and superstars puzzled. All we can wonder is which WWE superstar could fill the void.

Wade Barrett is slowly starting to gain momentum within the company and with fans. After a lackluster stint delivering "Bad News", Barrett returned to the ring and surprised the world with his newly acquired hunger for more. Although he may not have the following at the moment, Barrett could get the respect he deserves one day and hopefully sooner rather than later.

Cesaro has been on a tear since joining forces with Paul Heyman. He's a perfect candidate to take Punk's place in the business -- something that may not be too hard for Cesaro to accomplish since he's already with Punk's former manager. Cesaro has the tools to become a beloved heel and hold the WWE Championship at the same time. He also has great mic skills and is extremely gifted at angering people, which is very Punk-like.

Dean Ambrose stands out among the younger superstars in WWE. He has the charisma, ring skills and microphone skills to become revered in and out of the ring. He has a lot of the same qualities as CM Punk. Ambrose came into WWE with a very strong independent following, just as Punk did. That following has yet to be pleased with WWE's placement of Ambrose within the business, but his day will come eventually.

Bray Wyatt is well on his way to becoming one of the most popular heels in recent history. He already has a cult-like following behind the dark and twisted Wyatt Family, so he's a lot closer than most superstars to becoming as huge as CM Punk was at one point. Personally, I'd love to see Wyatt compete for a WWE Championship, but it may be just a little too soon. We've yet to see the best from this young superstar, but his time is now.

Although Daniel Bryan is the No. 1 face in the industry, I think he should have a run as a top heel. WWE has yet to allow Bryan to let loose on the mic due to his superstar face status, but I can see Bryan getting extreme on the mic. His followers will walk through fire and back for him, so he'd automatically be one of the most popular heels in recent memory, if not of all time. The WWE and Bryan need to experiment with this heel thing soon.
