Daniel Bryan Is No Longer Champion
Daniel Bryan is legitimately unable to wrestle, so the WWE has stripped him off of the WWE World Heavyweight title.
Bryan was expected to defend his title against Kane at the Money In The Bank PPV, but the doctors have told him he’s unable to wrestle so soon. It’s been a string of bad luck for Bryan ever since he became champion at WrestleMania XXX. A week after his historic win, Bryan’s dad died. A few weeks after that, one of his biggest fans died. Bryan continued working through all of this, but a nagging neck injury had him sidelined.
Many thought he’d be back in four weeks, but it looks like he needs a longer recovery period. The WWE had no choice but to force him to surrender the belts. In the Money in the Bank PPV, WWE wrestlers will now fight to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. This is the first time in history that the Money in the Bank match is not for a briefcase.
I have a bad feeling about Bryan’s career going forward at this point. The WWE might think he’s “injury-prone” and might not be willing to push him as much as they have done this year.
It was rumored Bryan was to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. This match may not happen as I don’t think Lesnar is the right guy to work a safe match with Bryan. Lesnar is a strong dude and may injure Bryan again if they’re in the ring together.
