Two Money in the Bank matches are still taking place this year even though there is only one title in WWE right now. When the company merged the WWE and World Heavyweight Titles, many fans were worried that events like Money in the Bank and Elimination Chamber would be boring. With one title, only one match type would be possible. Elimination Chamber was kind of boring this year with only one chamber match as opposed to the two we received in previous years. Now that Daniel Bryan is injured and the WWE World Heavyweight Title is vacant, the Money in the Bank match has been changed so that the title itself is up for grabs. This is historic since the main title has never been up for grabs in a Money in the Bank match before. We will be seeing a new champion at the end of the month, but hopefully it is someone different. If either John Cena or Randy Orton wins, things will get boring again. This leaves one other Money in the Bank match open for the briefcase. The briefcase allows wrestlers to become the number one contender at anytime within the next 365 days. If Cena wins the title again, someone like Dolph Ziggler could ruin his parade and cash in his briefcase on the same night. I actually think this year’s Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View looks better with Bryan injured. No disrespect to Bryan, but he was originally going to defend the title against Kane in a “Stretcher Match”. With him injured, we get a more exciting Money in the Bank match instead. Plus, a potential new champion will be crowned.
