John Cena shouldn’t win at Money In The Bank because fans do not want to see the same old thing over and over again.
Cena qualified to be in the Money In The Bank match to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He will be joined by Roman Reigns, Cesaro, Bray Wyatt, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio and Randy Orton.
With Daniel Bryan injured, the WWE made this match to crown a new champion. Out of the seven participants, only Reigns, Wyatt and Cesaro have never been a World Champion before. The other four have already had their piece of the pie many times. Cena and Orton, in particular, don’t need to hog the spotlight again.
If Cena wins, we are back to the status quo and nothing new and groundbreaking will happen as a result of it. The WWE already lost a chunk of its audience by shoving Cena down our throats for many years. Those people have moved on and have now been watching the UFC, or other sports and TV programs.
CM Punk‘s rise in 2011 brought back some of the older audience members, as did the part-time appearances from The Rock and Brock Lesnar. Cesaro, Wyatt or Reigns might usher some new fans if they were to win, as it’s something fresh and new. Del Rio and Sheamus are bland and boring, and they shouldn’t win either. Sheamus is already the U.S. Champion, so I don’t know why he needs to be in this match. It’s like the WWE is telling us that the U.S. title is not important.
The only scenario I would like where Cena does win is if he turns heel. There’s little chance of that happening, but Cena turning heel is fresh and different. The last time Cena was a heel was back in 2003.
