While it’s tough to pick a winner in the upcoming traditional Money In the Bank briefcase ladder match, it’s not tough to predict the futures of Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. The two former Shield members are set to throw down this Sunday in Boston for a chance at a future WWE title shot. But of course they’ll be doing it alongside multiple other competitors.
According to a report on Wrestlezone.com, Ambrose and Rollins could be headed for a singles feud after MITB, which might run through the summer.
Rollins and Ambrose are expected to have a match at Battleground in July, and it’s just hard to see that being the end of the road for the two new rivals. They’re too talented, too good in the ring and too good for each other’s careers.
In addition it’s being rumored that Roman Reigns will be kept out of the potential Rollins/Ambrose angle, as he’ll focus his attention on The Authority.
The safe bet is that Reigns will take on Randy Orton at Battleground, which will earn him his shot at HHH one-on-one at SummerSlam.
If these are indeed WWE’s plans — they’re good plans. Rollins and Ambrose could feud for six months and still keep things interesting. There’s also no real reason to include Reigns in their battles. WWE is better off to spread its talented young stars around, rather than to lump them together as they did over the past year and a half with The Shield.
The rest of the WWE superstars better watch out, because Rollins and Ambrose are strong candidates to steal every show they wrestle at this summer.
