Yesterday, 2K Sports announced one thing that WWE fans have been waiting for for quite some time: a career mode. They didn’t stop there though, as they added another aspect that fans have been clamoring for: That players would start out in NXT and work their way up in WWE 2K15.

That news is huge for all dedicated fans, because it finally gives us all something to work towards in the game, rather than just simply choosing a few wrestlers to use and then trying to win a belt and go on to defend it for however long you want to continue playing. Now, there’s finally the option to make your character, to put him/her in the developmental system, work your way towards a belt or multiple belts, and go on to show the WWE why they should call you up.

The full details were not revealed however, so fans will continue to wait on what’s fully in store as far as other features go. One thing they did provide was the addition of several NXT superstars: Sami ZaynAdrian NevilleBo Dallas and Cesaro. Making sure to include those NXT stars is huge not just because it means you could call them up and have Zayn take on Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31, but because it also means you get to take on these superstars on your way through the NXT system.

I’m sincerely hoping the addition of NXT stars doesn’t stop there and they include the entire current roster that’s been used on the WWE Network at least in DLC content.

This was great news to hear, especially if you’re at all interested in the WWE 2K series. Fans have been waiting on a career mode that included the NXT for a long time, and it’s about time the WWE showcases their developmental system even further.

I don’t know about you, but I want to use Enzo Amore to go toe to toe with Lesnar and float like a butterfly, sting like a beast — until he can pin Lesnar for the title.
