There may not be a more reliable source backstage at the WWE than the side of the production trucks. Earlier this year, they revealed that Smackdown was moving back to Thursday nights — a move that has yet to happen. The trucks may have more breaking news: they may have just answered the ongoing question regarding The Undertaker wrestling at Wrestlemania 31.
The Undertaker showed up alongside Roman Reigns and A.J. Lee on a truck advertising next year’s Wrestlemania in the San Francisco Bay Area. Clearly, to many conspiracy theorist wrestling fans, this must mean he will wrestle at the event. It’s not like he is one of the most popular superstars ever and they just wanted to use a recognizable face. HE MUST BE WRESTLING.
Not pictured in the photo above are the images of Sting in a bikini on the tire flaps. That must be the match! Okay, I jest.
Some Undertaker news regarding Wrestlemania has come up recently. A fan ran into the Deadman at a charity fun run recently and had the nerve to ask the Undertaker if he would return to Wrestlemania next year, despite Brock Lesnar ending the streak at the 30th anniversary of wrestling’s greatest extravaganza.
His response, according to the brazen fan, was that he has “certainly not ruled it out.” It would probably take a very creative feud and/or storyline to get the Undertaker back into a WWE ring. Sting is the dream opponent, but I’ve heard many bandy about the idea of him getting revenge on Lesnar. I don’t think the Undertaker has what it takes to face the Beast Incarnate again. After the match at XXX, I don’t know what fan would want to see it.
Personally, I think the speculation should end. The Undertaker had a long and storied career and gave a lot to the fans. No gimmick will ever surpass the mythos of The Undertaker. If he wants to return, let him, but until HE makes it official, let’s just let him Rest. In. Peace.
