NXT Stock Report: Week of Oct. 27

Adrian Neville Titus ONeil

The Oct. 23 episode of NXT was headlined by Adrian Neville defending his NXT Championship against Titus O’Neil, but it was several other superstars and divas who saw their stock most affected. Here’s who’s trending up and down after the latest show.

Sasha Banks: UP

The boss had a banner week on NXT, knocking off Bayley in a competitive contest and then aligning herself with Becky Lynch, who shockingly attacked Bayley after the match. Banks continues to impress in the ring, and her backbreaker and crossface combination finisher is one of the best moves amongst all of the divas in the company. She appears destined to challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship in the upcoming months.

CJ Parker: DOWN

Parker’s downhill slide continued this past week with a loss to Tyler Breeze. Parker appeared poised for a push after being repackaged as a smug environmentalist, but he’s endured a lengthy losing streak, including crushing defeats to Baron Corbin. His role in the future remains uncertain.

Vaudevillains: UP

The tandem of Aiden English and Simon Gotch continues to impress, as they knocked off Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy. The Vaudevillains consistently entertain both with their work inside the squared circle, as well as with their old-fashioned characters. With the Ascension removed from the tag team title picture, the Vaudevillains appear to be the top challengers for the Lucha Dragons.

Hideo Itami: DOWN

Itami entered NXT with much acclaim, and his future is still incredibly bright. His debut has been less than stellar though, as he’s competed in mediocre matches and has been on the receiving end of several beatings from the Ascension. That was the case again this past week, as he fell victim to a two-on-one beatdown from Konner and Viktor. Itami will get his redemption, but he’s looked very vulnerable early in his NXT career.

Sami Zayn: UP

Zayn didn’t even compete this past week, but he earned an NXT Championship match at the conclusion of the show. After NXT Champion Adrian Neville successfully defended his title against Titus O’Neil, Zayn issued a challenge and the champion accepted. Zayn’s road to redemption began with a victory over Tyson Kidd two weeks ago, and now that he’s been assured another title shot, he can finally prove that he can win the big match.
