WWE Rumors: Adrian Neville To Be Called Up Soon

The trend has seen all of the former NXT Champions brought up to the main WWE roster shortly after being defeated for the title. The first champ, Seth Rollins, lost the title to Big E, although technically he ended up coming to the main roster as part of The Shield before actually dropping the belt. Big E debuted as Dolph Ziggler‘s backup while he was the NXT Champion as well, actually. So I guess Bo Dallas was the first wrestler to debut on the main roster (redebut in his case) following a title loss. The point still stands, winning the NXT Championship means you are being primed to be pulled up to the big leagues.

So far Rollins is the only NXT alumnus who has had true success in WWE. Big E looked to be headed somewhere but had his legs cut off at the knees out of nowhere. Bo Dallas was getting over and they decided to break his kneecaps and then things got worse when he injured his foot.

Now it comes to Adrian Neville. He is certainly more talented than Big E and Bo Dallas, and on par with, if not better than, Seth Rollins in the ring. Neville has a lot of the backstage higher ups on board with him and Triple H specifically has sung his praises on a number of occasions. Is Neville primed to be a legitimately pushed star on a consistent basis or will he be brought in with fanfare, start getting some wins under his belt and then, just when it looks like he is going to challenge a higher level wrestler — BOOM — he gets taken down a few notches and is forgotten about.

I understand Vince McMahon‘s trepidation regarding pushing new guys, but we aren’t dealing with Brock Lesnar here. Bo Dallas is a third generation wrestler and isn’t going to get up and walk away if he gets some relevant TV time. Adrian Neville has been wrestling for coming up on 11 years. If he was getting into wrestling just to raise his profile he would have chosen a different path by now. Getting a decent push on the main roster isn’t going to suddenly burn Neville out and make him realize that he wanted to become a pro rugby player.

Bottom line, Adrian Neville is a veteran. He’s not some new kid whose only experience comes from a 20×20 ring inside a sterilized gym in Orlando. He has shown his dedication to the business and proven his abilities in the ring. Put him on TV, give him a chance and let him shine.

Oh, by the way, he isn’t going to be debuting on WWE TV as Mighty Mouse. It was someone’s cockamamie description for a small guy with a lot of heart and deceiving physical strength.
