How Long Does Daniel Bryan Have Left In The WWE?

After making his nearly heart stopping announcement this past Monday night on RAW, questions immediately arose in the heads of many people.

As Daniel Bryan himself said, the doctors didn’t even know what was wrong with him and therapy and initial surgeries did not fix the problem. That said, his mysterious injury is still just that, a mystery. Maybe the lack of public knowledge on the extent of his physical state is a good thing, as people may further worry and not get as invested in his character this time around if there is open knowledge that there is a clear time frame between now and the end.

Whether or not there is an end date on his career, the possibility of it coming to a close in an instant is going to be ever looming. Could the next flying headbutt be his last? I may be more invested and fearful than some, as I have been in love with his wrestling since I saw his match with Low Ki from the second Ring of Honor show more than a decade ago. I never expected, as good as he has always been, that he could make it as far as he has. But he did, and as soon as he started to go over the edge, poof! Injury.

If Bryan doesn’t win the Royal Rumble match this year, the crowd will be quite upset – put out, even. We had to essentially force WWE‘s hand last year, and thankfully it turned out well and gave us one of the best moments in a very long time, but apparently Vince McMahon didn’t get the hint and looks ready to start the misguided process all over again. Will we be as lucky this time around?

Bryan may have just needed an appropriate amount of rest and rehab, and he has completed that and is back in top physical condition to the point where it isn’t more dangerous for him than any other capable pro wrestler. Chances are that his first official match back will be at the end of the month and he won’t be wrestling on TV before the big PPV return, so we won’t get the chance to see how he wrestles and come up with even more speculation until at least the final Sunday of the first month of the new year.
