WWE Rumors: Goldberg Wants One Last Match

In a recent interview, Goldberg responded positively to a question about his future in pro wrestling. He stated that he is in the best shape of his life even at 48 years old and knows that he could definitely do it. When asked if he had a dream match in WWE, or simply if there was anybody he would like to work with, he was happy to say that he would be open to wrestle any roster member. That leads me to wonder — if Goldberg makes a return, who would be the right opponent? Would he wrestle more than one match? Maybe an even bigger question: would he be willing to lose? At this point in time Goldberg is a father and a husband who has been out of the wrestling spotlight for over 10 years. One would have to imagine that for the right amount of money, he would probably lay down for somebody, but would Vince McMahon, who I lose more and more faith in every single day, have any clue how to use him?

I say they should recreate his match with Brock Lesnar from WrestleMania XX and see how the crowd reacts.

Kidding aside, a surprise appearance from Goldberg to come to the aid of former WCW comrade Sting would certainly be on my short list of things I would like to see him do. Triple H, Seth Rollins and their crew are getting the best of The Icon and suddenly the lights go out. Then they slowly start to come on as the WCW version of Goldberg’s theme begins playing. The Titantron lights up and an agent is knocking on a door backstage. It opens. Holy crap, it’s Goldberg. That would be a heck of a moment.

If he were to make a return in 2015, who would benefit most from having a high-profile match against one of the biggest stars of the 1990s? Roman Reigns is an obvious choice. There aren’t any dream matches for him to have, so it would be all about putting someone over; team up with a younger guy to give him some credibility and get beat by a young heel to raise his profile. I would love to see Hideo Itami kick him all over the ring,
