WWE Rumors: Samoa Joe Could Be Joining Big Boys Within the Year

After abruptly leaving TNA last week, there has been a ton of speculation as to where Samoa Joe will be landing and calling his new home. Ring of Honor just announced that Joe will be appearing at their 13th Anniversary pay-per-view tomorrow and he has something to say. We know that Joe will be wrestling for ROH later on in March and he will be doing shows for New Japan Pro Wrestling as well, but what does he have to say? Is he going after the ROH World Title? Does he want to address backstage rumors about TNA?

According to the rumors, there are plenty of companies reaching out to Joe including Lucha Underground, AAA and even WWE, as it has been noted that Samoa Joe and WWE have been in back and forth contact recently. A big boon for Global Force Wrestling would see Jeff Jarrett start to announce an actual roster for the promotion (if they are indeed going to run their own branded shows) and name Samoa Joe as the first member. That would be an announcement to get people talking.

Word on the street (or in the sheets) is that Triple H is interested in bringing Samoa Joe in as a member of NXT with the intention of eventually bringing him up to the main roster. Is it going to happen? I’m going to say that yes, we will see Samoa Joe make it to NXT some time before the year is over. My fear, as is now a fear I have for everybody that is brought up to the main WWE roster, is that as soon as they bring him up, he will be immediately mishandled, just like Cesaro and most recently The Ascension, who may be taking the cake for having the worst introduction of a new wrestler or team in years. It’s absolutely abominable, but that’s a discussion for another time.

In the end, we will, as always, have to just wait and see. Once he does some shows for ROH and NJPW, I think he’ll briefly make the rounds on the independent circuit to say goodbye one last time before embarking on his journey as Umaga’s long lost brother. Or maybe the Usos’ crazy cousin Joey.
