WWE Still Wants The Rock For WrestleMania, But They Need To Move On

Even though he will be busy making a movie in the spring of 2016 and it’s been reported multiple times that he can’t make it to WrestleMania, WWE appears hell bent on getting The Rock on the biggest card of the year on April 3. It still feels unlikely, and if he does show up it will undoubtedly be in a non wrestling capacity.

The big angle that started at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara last April may never see a payoff. The Rock and Ronda Rousey confronted Triple H and Stephanie McMahon and it seemed to be leading to a tag team match in Dallas. Speculation all year has gone back and forth between it either being that match or just Rock vs. Triple H with the two women in their respective corners.

With Rousey on medical suspension for 6 months following her first ever defeat, UFC President Dana White is not likely to be open to allowing Rousey to attend the show let alone be an active participant. On top of that, the top fighter is not taking her first loss very well and WWE may not even want to bring her in now that she isn’t undefeated and is no longer the champ.

WWE would be best served to bring The Rock in during a slower time of the year to help give everyone a shot in the arm. He isn’t needed at WrestleMania and shouldn’t have to pull double duty between that and his movie while also having a new child at home. Give the man a break!

The show has been very strong without all of the usual top stars and part time guys over the past couple of months and it would be great to see WWE take this direction and move it toward the biggest show of the year. Let them sink or swim!
