Chris Jericho Will Return For WrestleMania Because He Said He Won’t

When asked if he was going to be at WrestleMania this year Chris Jericho replied that sadly he would not and that an announcement is coming. Knowing Jericho’s propensity to mislead the fans on the internet this could be only a partial truth. Jericho does have an announcement to make on Monday… it will be on WWE RAW to declare he will be in the Royal Rumble.

Y2J had his best shot to actually win the 30-man mammoth of a match almost a decade and a half ago (in 2003) and it is not likely that he could win this time. In fact it would be terrible for Roman Reigns. The current suggestion is that Jericho’s former nemesis Triple H is going to win the match and go on to challenge Reigns in Dallas. It would be pretty cool to see the two men square off one last time within the context of the Rumble.

None of this answers the question about Jericho making it to WrestleMania. His last appearance in a match at the Granddaddy Of Them All was at WrestleMania 29 in a fruitless effort against the then promising Fandango. It makes you wonder if he is at all soured on the idea of using his name to try to help a young guy get over after that debacle. If you remember, the rivalry with Jericho led only to the short-lived popularity of the man’s theme song.

Vince McMahon will be appearing on Monday Night RAW and maybe he will be interrupted by Jericho who will come to the aid of Reigns in the form of mean spirited jokes and possibly as a tag partner later on in the evening.

As far as who Jericho would be getting into the ring with at WrestleMania, that’s a complete toss up. Dean Ambrose immediately comes to mind. Maybe a dream match with Daniel Bryan could be in the cards; that would help distract fans from clamoring for Bryan to take Reigns’ spot.

In any case, it would not be entirely shocking to see the return of Chris Jericho on the final edition of RAW in 2015. The man is predictably unpredictably predictable.
