Cesaro Set To Return To WWE In April, Could Make Surprise WrestleMania Appearance

By Nicholas A. Marsico

It was announced on Twitter today that WWE will be bringing Cesaro back in mid-April for the upcoming European tour. He was advertised as being “in action” rather than just appearing, which means he is either healed or just about ready to go. He got hurt at a terribly unfortunate time in his career, but in his case absence may indeed make the hearts of the WWE Universe grow fonder.

Speculation began immediately after the announcement was made that this advertisement may have been put out there not only to promote Cesaro’s return to his homeland, but also to throw off the fans in order to surprise them with an unannounced return at WrestleMania. He can enter the Andre The Giant battle royal and win it for the second time in three years.

It can be the start of a reboot for the Swiss Superman, who can be triumphant in the battle royal and actually receive some follow-up booking to keep the momentum going. If this does happen, hopefully the match will make the main card instead of the preshow, but let’s take things one step at a time.

Cesaro is one of the best “bases” for smaller, high-flying wrestlers. He’s also a strong, hard hitting beast of a man. It would be great to see Cesaro inserted into the United States Championship picture after WrestleMania. A triple threat with Ryback and Kalisto as well as singles matches against both men would have high potential to be show stealing contests.

It’s a wonder that this man hasn’t been given the opportunities he has earned. Just because he doesn’t speak perfect English doesn’t mean he isn’t an insanely charismatic personality. He has everything you want in a superstar. JBL calls Randy Orton the template that you want to start with when building a wrestler from the ground up; Cesaro is the superstar you get when the construction is complete.
