5 Things Ring Of Honor Should Do If They Buy TNA

Recent rumors have sprung up that there is a chance Ring of Honor COO Joe Koff has expressed interest in buying a piece of TNA. The SBG corporation that he runs certainly has the money to buy and sell Dixie Carter if they truly want to, and at some point, she is just going to have to give in and let somebody else take majority control. There’s no other way for her to stay in business. So if ROH did, for example, fully buy TNA from Carter, here are five things they should do with the brand.

And no, “start paying the talent” is not on this list. That should be the obvious first step.

5. Put It Out Of Its Misery

TNA has far too many talented wrestlers to be in the position they're in. Bad business and booking decisions alike have killed it. Maybe enough damage has been done that they can just bring it behind the barn and quietly put it to rest.

4. Talent Sharing

Instead of the hackneyed invasion storyline, both brands could continue to operate separately. They would keep their core rosters the same but have the opportunity to use people from the rosters for one-off appearances and others more regularly.

3. Joint Branded Supershows

Obviously, this one would need to wait until the TNA brand could be successfully dragged out of the gutter. Once that happens, though, they could take a show like Bound For Glory and revive it as a TNA/ROH supershow. They can do the same on TV.

For quite a long time now, TNA has existed almost solely as a TV entity. Like the joint brand shows, the TNA brand would first need to be revived a bit, but they can start out slow by running cards inside appropriately-sized buildings.

The show comes across like they're taking themselves so seriously. TNA is like the TV show version of early 2010s Davey Richards. TNA lost its identity a long time ago. The first step to recovery is making it fun. Then they can carve their identity.
