One day after speculation that Seattle Seahawks linebacker pick Aaron Curry may be on the trading block less than a month into the regular season, it appears those rumors are true after all.

According to NFL Network Insider Jason La Canfora, the Seahawks are open to trading Curry and would be open to listening to offers for the former first-round pick. Curry was selected with the fourth overall pick back in the 2009 NFL Draft after a stellar career at Wake Forest, but he’s never lived up to the six-year, $60 million contract ($34 million guaranteed) he signed as a rookie and recently lost his starting job to K.J. Wright–a rookie drafted in the fourth round of April’s draft.

As La Canfora indicates, there’s definitely potential considering he’s only in his third season and was considered one of the top linebackers of his draft class at the time back in 2009. There are plenty of teams that could use help at the linebacker position and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Seattle received numerous offers for Curry.
