The Houston Texans find themselves in the perfect opportunity to finally takeover the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts struggling to life without Peyton Manning–but they may have taken a huge step back on Sunday with the possible loss of Mario Williams.
According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, Williams left Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders with a pectoral injury. From what it sounds like, there’s a good chance Williams may have torn his pectoral muscle and if that is true–Williams would most likely miss the remainder of the 2011 season.
Obviously, this news would be devastating for the Texans considering how important Williams has been to the defense since being selected with the No. 1 pick back in 2006. Williams recorded his fifth sack of the season against the Raiders before leaving the game with the injury.
