As if last Sunday’s 48-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers wasn’t already difficult to deal with, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers received more bad news on Thursday after learning they will be forced to play the next few games without their star running back–LeGarrette Blount.

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, Blount is expected to miss several weeks after spraining his MCL against the 49ers. While this news is disappointing for Tampa Bay, the team should consider themselves lucky Blount’s MCL injury was just a sprain and not a tear–which would have kept him out even longer.

Blount has rushed for 328 yards and three touchdowns through the first five games of the 2011 season. With Blount out, the Buccaneers will rely on Earnest Graham–who was the team’s No. 1 running back a few years ago–will lead the way in the ground game for the time being.
