Rex Grossman Era Over With Redskins After Being Benched For John Beck?
After completing just 9 of 22 passes for 143 yards and four interceptions, Washington Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman was replaced by John Beck in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, the big question everybody wants to know–does this mean Mike Shanahan will go with Beck from here on out?
The two quarterbacks provided one of the most surprising battles to keep an eye on throughout training camp and Beck seemed surprised when Shanahan named Grossman the starter for Week 1. Despite the team’s impressive 3-1 start, Grossman has thrown more interceptions (nine) than touchdowns (six) this season and has been anything but consistent.
Depending on how Beck finishes the game, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Shanahan strongly considered Beck as his new quarterback from here on out–especially since he seemed to be the leading candidate during the preseason.
