Report: Lions DT Ndamukong Suh Called NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to Apologize For Incident Against Packers
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh knows a suspension is coming after last Thursday’s incident against the Green Bay Packers in which he was ejected for kicking Green Bay Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith–it’s just a matter of how many games. From what it seems like, the Defensive Rookie of the Year is trying so hard to receive as small of a suspension as possible–he’s even willing to suck up to the commissioner.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Suh called NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Sunday night to apologize for his actions from Thursday’s game. Suh has already been hit with numerous fines this season for some of his hits and even met with Goodell a few weeks ago to clarify what was considered clean–so he’s obviously trying to help his case here.
Despite the effort, it’s doubtful Suh’s call will help his case as Goodell most likely already has an idea of how long he wants the defensive tackle to be suspended. After denying he did anything wrong during the press conference following the game, maybe Suh actually realized how much this suspension could hurt the Lions chances at the playoffs.
