BREAKING: Monday Night Football a Two Man Game
LosThatSportsBlog

ESPN’s Monday Night Football has announced that they are switching to a two man booth.

The network announced that Ron Jaworski signed a 5-year deal to appear on other programming on ESPN and will no longer be a color analyst for MNF. Current play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico and color analyst John Gruden will be the duo that calls the games on Monday night’s.

“Jaws” has called MNF games for the last five seasons but he will now just appear on various other shows year ’round on the network.

Gruden joined the broadcast in 2009 and just recently signed a 5-year extension in October to stay in the booth.

This will be the first time in 15 years that ESPN will only have a two man broadcast for Monday Night games.

Tirico is one of the best play-by-play guys in the business and Gruden has come into his own as an analyst since he joined. He provides great insight from a coaches perspective and I think the viewers appreciate that. Jaworski seems to have fallen out of favor with the audience and that could be a reason for the move.

The duo will make their debut Sept. 10. No match-up set yet as the 2012 NFL schedule has yet to be released.
