Brady Quinn Says He’s Sorry For Tim Tebow Comments

Brady Quinn is busy apologizing to Tim Tebow for less then flattering comments Quinn made about the Denver Broncos’ starting quarterback in a GQ article recently.

The article on Tebow was written by Michael Silver and titled “The year of Magical Stinking: An Oral History of Tebow Time.”

In the article, Quinn was quoted as saying, “We’ve had a lot of, I guess, luck, to put it simply.” He went on to say that he felt the fans were the reason Tebow jumped over him on the depth chart when taking over for Kyle Orton as the starter after a awful 1-4 start.

“I felt like the fans had a lot to do with that,” Quinn said in the article. “Just `cause they were chanting his name. There was a big calling for him. No, I don’t have any billboards. That would have been nice.”

Quinn also was quoted as saying that the way Tebow expresses his faith doesn’t “seem very humble to me.”

Quinn quickly went to Twitter after the article’s release on Tuesday, saying the comments did not show his true opinion of Tebow.

Tebow “deserves a lot of credit for our success and I’m happy for him and what he accomplished. Most importantly, he is a great teammate,” Quinn wrote.

He then told The Denver Post the following.

“I’ve reached out to Tim and he knows what I think of him as a player and a person,” Quinn said, per the Denver Post. “I hope my teammates know that I don’t think this season was based upon luck. I think it was more based upon the fight each of our teammates had to continually battle and win games in the end. And Tim was very much instrumental in our success, especially coming down the stretch in the last minutes of games.”

Quinn is currently an unrestricted free agent and it would seem he is trying to get back in the good graces of the Denver faithful and front office personnel including Denver legend, John Elway.

Whether this plea works or not, only time will tell.

What are your thoughts on both his comments and his quick rescinding of anything negative?
