Now that he’s finally retired from the NFL for good, former Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has cooled down quite a bit when it comes to being the center of attention in the media–mainly because nobody has to sit here and listen to the future Hall of Fame quarterback debate whether or not he should play another football season. Now, it looks like Favre will be quite the popular topic in the media once again for at least a few days after giving in to the popular social media craze of Twitter.

On Friday, Favre decided to sign up for his own Twitter account and within the first hour after joining the site–he already had close to 10,000 followers. Over the years, Twitter has become one of the best ways for professional athletes to interact with fans and now that No. 4 is officially on board with the popular social media site–it should be interesting to see how often he uses the site.

Hello friends, family, and fans. This is my official account I finally found the time to join twitter.

Of course, the main question that everybody wants to know now is whether or not Favre will regret signing up for an account. Obviously, Twitter is one of the most addicting things on the face of this earth and is used by just about every professional athlete out there, but Favre has been the unfortunate victim of popular jokes for some of his off-the-field issues–especially when it comes to Jenn Sterger.
