Arian Foster Inks New Five-Year Deal with Houston Texans
Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE

In terms of value, Houston Texans’ running back, Arian Foster, may very well have been the most underpaid player in the NFL last season, making just $525,000 yet gaining 1,224 yards and 10 touchdowns, adding over 600 yards in receptions on the season.

As of today, that should no longer be the case.

The Texans and Foster, who was a restricted free agent, have reached an agreement on a contract that will keep the elite running back in Houston for the next 5 years.

By reaching an agreement now, the Texans will not have to use the franchise tag on the undrafted running back-turned 2x Pro-Bowler.

Foster, who gained 336 total yards in the Texans’ first ever playoff win last season, is a key piece–arguably the MVP–on a team that has an incredibly bright future in the years ahead.

The details of the contract still have to be finalized, but Houston fans can breathe much easier knowing that Arian Foster will still be running in a Texans jersey for the next several seasons.
