Flynn should solidify the Seahawks’ quarterback position greatly. Tavaris Jackson is as inconsistent as Aaron Rodgers is consistent, and Sidney Rice and the rest of the wide receivers core should benefit from the accurate Flynn. It’s a bit of a surprise Flynn is heading to the Pacific Northwest, considering how badly the Miami Dolphins need a quarterback. But it was reported yesterday that the Dolphins were low-balling Flynn, in hopes he would sign with the Dolphins solely based on their new head coach – and former Packers’ offensive coordinator – Joe Philbin.

If Peyton Manning doesn’t sign with the 49ers, this will tighten up the NFC West. Seahawks already retained Marshawn Lynch, who led the NFC last season in rushing.

As I stated previously, as a Packers’ fan, the jury is still out on Flynn. At best, he’s probably another Matt Schaub, which isn’t a bad thing by any means. At worst, he’s a Charlie Whitehurst, a hyped back-up quarterback that already failed in Seattle.

Flynn set Packers’ franchise record for yards and touchdowns in a game against Detroit in Week 17, and won a National Championship for LSU in the 2007 season.
