LSU Cornerback Mo Claiborne Scored A Four On The Wonderlic Test
The X-Log

According to Pat Dooley, there is a new record low on the Wonderlic Test that is given to NFL hopefuls at the NFL Combine.  LSU Tigers star cornerback and certain top ten pick Mo Claiborne reportedly scored a four on the test.  A four out of 50.  Eight percent.

I’m not sure how accurate this report is, but it could possibly be true.  We have seen some low scores in the past.  Vince Young and A.J. Green were both rumored to score in the single digits.  This did not affect their draft stock at all, but it did make for some good fodder in the sports blog world.

I would be shocked if this hurts Claiborne’s stock.  The Wonderlic Test is a good tool, but not exactly an indicator of talent.  It does not matter what his intelligence is, as long as he can make plays on the football field.  Claiborne had a fantastic career at LSU and he is worth a first round pick.  He’s going to make some team very happy.

We will see how long that this report stands out.  Normally low Wonderlic Test scores are refuted and players are allowed to retake the test.  Claiborne may be an exception and he could have to live with the infamy of scoring a four on a general intelligence test.  I love the guy on the football field, but a four is just not good.  How do you go to school for three years and get a four on this test.?

Thanks to the Big Lead for the story.
