Chargers Linebacker Antwan Applewhite Arrested For Suspicion of DUI
According to a report from 10News.com in San Diego, Chargers linebacker Antwan Applewhite was arrested for suspicion of DUI by the San Diego Police Department on Friday morning. He was eventually released on $2,500 bail and has a court date scheduled for June 17.
The report indicates that Applewhite was pulled over around 2:30 AM and given a DUI evaluation before his arrest. Applewhite joins a list of over 10 players that have been arrested since the lockout began–so this has become a common theme in the NFL as of lately.
Applewhite just wrapped up his third year with the Chargers and is coming off a 2010 season in which he started 13 games and recorded 48 combined tackles to go along with three sacks. Whether or not the NFL will take action for Applewhite’s DUI incident remains unknown considering nothing can be done until the lockout comes to an end.

An NFL player arrested during the offseason? Imagine that. Funny how you rarely hear of MLB players getting into trouble with the law.
