San Diego has not made the playoffs since the 2009 season

After starting the 2011 season 4-1, San Diego flat lined, and fell to 4-7 after six consecutive losses. They finished the season at 8-8 after a 4-1 finish, but missed the playoffs for the second straight season. The 2010 season was a failure as well, but 2011 had to hurt just as much because San Diego had the number one ranked offense and defense in 2010. San Diego fans believed that with some adjustments on special teams, the 2011 season was supposed to be great for the Chargers.
