Alex Smith Signs One-Year, $5 Million Deal with San Francisco 49ers

Well the quarterback situation in San Francisco is certainly going to be interesting. With many reports indicating Matt Hasselbeck might sign with the team, the 49ers have inked former No. 1 overall pick Alex Smith to a one year deal.
It appears as if Hasselbeck is not an option.
Colin Kaepernick has been given a real chance to start by 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh, but for now I have to believe the job is Smith’s to lose.
Smith expected to be resigned so this should come as a surprise to no one. Hasselbeck signing would have really shaken things up.
