RANT It!

[picappgallerysingle id="10093433"]Last night the San Francisco Giants were looking to crush the heart and spirit of the Texas Rangers. A game three win would have killed all hope for a Texas championship. However, Jonathan Sanchez paid for his mistakes and the Giants stumbled in the 4-2 loss. Sanchez gave up a three run bomb to Mitch Moreland in the second. In the fifth Josh Hamilton would hammer a pitch deep. Sanchez would not get out of the fifth and his final stat line was 4.2 innings, 4 runs, 6 hits, 3 walks, and two gopher balls. Not the start the Giants needed from Sanchez.

The four runs were all Colby Lewis needed.  The Texas starter was dominant pitching in front of the charged up home crowd. He would go into the eighth inning giving up only two runs while striking out six. His two runs were bombs by Cody Ross and Andres Torres. Since there were no base runners, the damage was minimal. He gave the Rangers the performance that they desperately needed. He would turn it over to Darren O’Day and Neftali Feliz. Both of these men held the Giants down to nail down the win.

Despite the loss there were some positives for the Giants. The Giants bullpen was again dominant. They went four plus innings of shutout baseball on the road against a very good Rangers lineup. The two homeruns also were a sign the Giants are not done swinging hot bats. On the road and facing a team in a must win situation, they were in the game the entire way. They had a mini rally going in the eighth, but failed to get the big hit.

Game four is Sunday. The Giants need to win to keep Lady Momentum in their corner. Young Madison Bumgarner is ready to write the nest chapter in his young career. The rookie will need to show the same poise he has shown all season. If he does, the Giants will get the start they need as well as the win that puts the Rangers away. The Hunt For Orange October Continues. GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!
