NCAA Tournament Sweet 16: Kentucky vs. Indiana Preview
Jamie Rhodes-US PRESSWIRE

Game:  (1) Kentucky – (4) Indiana 3/23 9:45 PM ET

Bracket:  West Region

Game Analysis:  Kentucky’s athleticism is impossible for any team to matchup against.  They are very fast on the break and the youth of their three star freshmen stars allows them to play most of the minutes of each game.  Kentucky is impossible to post up down low, with forward Anthony Davis blocking anything that his team does not throw up. However, Davis meets one of the other star freshmen of his recruiting class, Cody Zeller.  Zeller is a much more fluid shooter then Davis, so expect the Indiana star to spread the floor early in the contest.

Matchup to Watch:  PG Marquis Teague, Kentucky vs. PG Jordan Hulls, Indiana – Teague really stepped up last game by dropping 24 points and 7 assists on Iowa State, momentarily silencing all his critics who said he was not a strong jump-shooter.  He has really blossomed with fellow freshmen, Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist taking pressure off him, as the terrific threesome has yet to be contained all year.  Teague will be matched up against Indiana junior point guard, Jordan Hulls.  Hulls is not near as athlete as Teague is, but he is a much more experienced player.  The Indiana guard is making a phenomenal 50.7% from the field this year, while only turning the ball over 2 times a game.  Hull will have a tough matchup against the Kentucky kid, but he can have a serious impact if he continues to take smart shots and control the ball.

Matchup to Watch:  F Anthony Davis, Kentucky vs. F Cody Zeller, Indiana – Davis is by the far the most imposing presence in the low-post in the nation.  He has very quick feet and his athleticism is unparalleled.  The freshman is grabbing 10 rebounds a game, along with 4.6 blocks, and will be a very difficult matchup for Zeller to handle the whole game down low.  Zeller is an outstanding scorer at 15.5 points per game, but will struggle with the punishing nature of Davis over a 40-minute stretch.

Prediction:  Kentucky 80 – Indiana 70
