As the world celebrated the turn of 2013 and the New Year, the transfer windows of world football opened – starting a month of negotiations and transfers as clubs search for new players who can help them achieve their season goals.

Here is the latest gossip of major transfers and Soccer news from around the globe, and the English Premier League in particular. By gathering the media’s latest rumors you can get a glimpse of what may be to come – or you can laugh and call it nonsense! Like I tend to do.

All these stories are based on what their sources are stating, not me. Truth-ability is my little rating of how much truth a story has in it.

QPR ‘open Joe Cole Talks’

QPR have opened talks to bring Liverpool’s former England midfielder, Joe Cole to Loftus Road. Cole, 31, is expected to move on a loan deal with the option of a permanent deal in the future, in an attempt by Harry Redknapp to keep QPR in the Premier League.

Striker-starved West Ham make a move for Southampton’s Rickie Lambert

West Ham United will make a bid for Southampton’s top goal scorer Rickie Lambert as Andy Carroll is confirmed to be out for a further month. West Ham have scored just 24 goals this season, but Southampton will do all they can to keep their main man at the club.

AVB confirms Tottenham are back in for Willian and Damiao

Spurs are looking for up to three new signings in January to help their Champions League qualification push but the star due would cost £37m – for the two Shaktar Donetsk Brazillian players.

Southampton head Liverpool & Everton in Jack Butland race

Premier League relegation battlers Southampton look poised to pip both Merseyside clubs to the signing of England goal keeper Jack Butland. Butland who impressed during the summer for his country is expected to be sold from Birmingham for £5m according to;

Aston Villa ready to splash the cash

Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is planning to go on a spending spree in order to save his side from relegation. Manager Paul Lambert is believed to have held crisis talks with his owner, and an agreed new sum of money will allow him to sign players on fees and loans to stop the drop.

Manchester United will allow Lampard and Cole future

Sir Alex Ferguson, 71 on New Years eve, will offer Frank Lampard, 34 and Ashley Cole, 32, the opportunity to play at Old Trafford when their contracts run out at the under season with Chelsea.
