The England winger and striker has recently signed for Liverpool from Chelsea and now must take the new chance under Brendan Rodgers. Having failed at Stamford Bridge, pretty much, he now has the chance to be a major figure of a still ambitious club. Will have to put up with playing on the wing sometimes though, even if he doesn't want to.

Spain's all time leading goal scorer is out of favor at Barcelona, but he may well make a switch to the Premier League. If so ( or Italy) it will be very, very interesting and exciting to see how he gets on. Still a massive talent at 31.

At 26 it appears Radamel Falcao's career is very close to some cross roads. A new club that is. Spanish newspapers say he is ready to join Real Madrid in the summer, whilst other top European clubs are on the chase. Anyway, the Colombian is one of the world's finest strikers right now. Just watch him, GOAAALSSS.

The 23 year old Welsh winger is now entering a year that could really tell us what type of player he is. Let's wait and see.

24 of 26

3 - Santi Carzola

Carzola Arsenal

He may be 28, but that is known as the peak age for a footballer. 2013 could be the year Carzola proves he is just like the majority of the other top Spanish midfielders, world class. He's taking the Arsenal team by the storm, but needs to continue to do so, and be able to drive Arsenal forward more often. The tippy tappy style combined with two incredible feet, long shots and a football genius brain makes him a really great prospect for the coming year. Go Santi.

2 - Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo Real Madrid
Kyle Terada - US Presswire

You've probably now guessed who is number 1.. but, Ronaldo is still so very exciting to watch, and there is quite a lot still to be seen from the Portugal and Real Madrid forward. He has a return to Old Trafford to come in March as Madrid take on Manchester United and the question regarding his future still remains. But his ability has no questions surrounding it. Have we seen the best of him yet?

1 - Lionel Messi

How can it not be? The man who scored over 90 goals in 2012 is the only man I can recommend as Number 1 to keep an eye on this year. Will he be able to push for yet more goal scoring records? Or win back the Champions League and La Liga for his club, Barcelona. The world's best.
