I think most Norwich City fans would agree that Robert Snodgrass has been a terrific signing for the club. This trend continued with his performance against Fulham. However, it wasn’t quite enough to open up the Fulham defense for a winning goal.
Norwich are in need of getting that next Premier League win sooner rather than later, and Snodgrass may hold the key to securing that vital result. He was full of running during the Fulham, and although quality may have been missing at times, he was certainly prepared to put the effort in.
Nevertheless, one area that he has dropped off in is his set piece delivery. We know that the Canaries have scored a fair few of their goals this season from set piece situations. But with that dropping off in recent games, goals seem to have become very hard to find.
The former Leeds man has certainly added a new dimension to Norwich’s play this season. And with Anthony Pilkington on the other side things look very promising. It will be interesting to see if Chris Hughton is prepared to switch to a 4-4-2 system in search of more goals.
The addition of Luciano Becchio to the side means that he now has two genuine strikers to throw balls at. Although, the 4-2-3-1 system has been very much the preferred approach, Hughton may feel that a change is required to find that elusive win.
He may also feel that he will be able to get the best out of Snodgrass this season. Nevertheless, the best thing about him and Pilkington is they are both goal-scorers themselves as well as providers. I certainly think the Norwich wingers could provide the key to turning current form around.
