The Los Angeles Galaxy got off to a magical start in the opening weekend thanks to a Mike Magee hat-trick. However, their game’s performance last week was anything but magical. They barely got a tie to Chivas USA. Los Angeles at their best should have gotten another easy three points, but they didn’t. Now they head into a tough matchup against a hungry Colorado Rapids team.
If Los Angeles doesn’t want to have back-to-back poor performances, then Robbie Keane, Magee and the rest of the squad will need to step up. They definitely have the potential and the danger to win another MLS Cup, but they will have to show it on the field.
There have been many surprises so far in this young MLS season, and it is surprising that Los Angeles doesn’t have six points after two games. They lost to Chivas, but honestly I don’t see them continuing to play poorly. Landon Donovan will be returning soon as well.
In the end, Los Angeles needs to respond and compete against Colorado. Colorado is off to a somewhat sluggish start, but the Galaxy cannot overlook the Rapids. The Galaxy will be home, but the Rapids will be hungry to get a victory after last week’s tie. Will LA play like they should, or will they play poorly? We shall see this weekend in another action packed weekend of soccer.
