On Wednesday, a potential European decider will taking place when Tottenham travels to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea. The Blues earned a valuable win at Old Trafford on Sunday against champions Manchester United, putting them three points above Tottenham.

From a Spurs perspective, it’s a must-win game. The Spurs currently sit two points behind Arsenal, but have this game with Chelsea to spare.

It’s not going to be an easy win, far from it. Chelsea possess great talent in attacking areas, as Tottenham only found out too well. When Chelsea traveled to White Hart Lane earlier in the season, Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Oscar ran riot, pulling players out of position and creating chances. To be honest, it looked like they could have scored on every attack.

Tottenham were without key players Mousa Dembele and Gareth Bale for the game. Had they been playing, it might have been a different result. Tottenham, however, played valiantly in the 4-2 defeat to Chelsea.

It seems like a long time ago now. Tottenham fans were, on the whole, still unsure about Andre Villas-Boas‘ employment and Chelsea were at the top of the league under Roberto Di Matteo. Wow, how things have changed.

There’s no getting away from Gareth Bale. If the Spurs are going to leave West London with the three points, which would propel them above Arsenal, the Welsh wizard is going to be key. He’s capable of tearing apart any team, as many sides could testify to.

It’s a must-win clash for Tottenham. A loss would be utterly devastating, and would leave them hoping for Arsenal to drop points.
