Reading United Cannot Afford Uninspired Play vs. Ocean City Nor’Easters

On Sunday, Reading United took on FA Euro N.Y. Magic and won 3-2. The win was nice and all, but Reading was up 3-0 at one point. Towards the end of the game, Reading played uninspired football. Ultimately, they cannot afford to repeat that performance against the Ocean City Nor’Easters.

Ocean City is a much better and more disciplined team than FA Euro. I understand Reading’s uninspired play last game was must likely a fluke, but they have to make sure it is. Neither Ocean City nor Reading have lost in USL PDL league play this season. The only difference is that Reading has one tie, while Ocean City has zero.

This match will be a hard-fought battle for first place in the division. If Reading does not come in ready and concentrated for 90 full minutes, Ocean City will likely run away with the victory. This match should bring even performances from both sides.

Another reason why Reading cannot afford uninspired play is because of key players’ absences. Damion Lowe will most likely be serving a one-game red card suspension, but it is possible that the red card could be overturned. Keegan Rosenberry sustained a leg injury against the Philadelphia Union last Friday, and his return for Saturday’s game is still questionable.

Between injuries and a red card suspension to a key defensive player, Reading has their work cut out for them in order to find three points against Ocean City.
