Jozy Alitdore Will Benefit By Moving To Sunderland
Jozy Altidore‘s move to Sunderland is believed to be on the verge of completion, and will really kick starts his career onto bigger things.
At 23, Altidore has had a fairly decent spell in Holland with AZ Alkmaar, with last season proving how strong his talent really is. But, AZ was a fairly average situation in a league which is not at the standard of a ‘top’ level of football. By moving to Sunderland, Altidore has the potential to emulate what his fellow U.S. National team teammates have achieved in the Premier League and become a better player.
The move couldn’t come at a better time too. With his career still at such an early point, the momentum that will follow from a successful season at AZ can help him be confident in his ability and potentially strike attention from those around Europe as he embarks on a new opportunity on a far more testing stage.
Sunderland were crying out for a reliable and dangerous striker last season, as they quite simply struggled for goals. Altidore can now take that role, and if he avoids too many dry spells or cracking under pressure, then I fully expect him to succeed. Sunderland manager Paulo Di Canio is notably known for helping his players become fearless and this may well suit Altidore well.
It’s a benefit for the U.S. National Team too, as it will mean another player in their squad who will now be playing in the Premier League at a high level that will only strengthen the team . Let’s wait and see quite how this pans out, but Alitdore’s move to a higher level of football and Sunderland can only lead to good things for him.
