The German Super Cup marks the beginning of what is expected to be one of the best German Bundesliga seasons ever as the top two teams — Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund — are set to face off. Both sides are talented in their own ways, but there can only be one winner. Honestly, it has to be Munich.
With new coach Pep Guardiola at the helm with a roster full of stars and his beloved 4-3-3 formation being the new model, his success as a manager can only grow. In fact, he already defeated his former team Barcelona 2-0 in a midweek friendly and even watched his new team out-possess his old boys by 10% (first time in five years Barca lost the possession game). The team was weakened, but they still had a more than capable squad to play one of the best sides in the world.
Dortmund will be playing with their traditional 4-2-3-1 under their intelligent coach Jurgen Klopp. They have a squad that is capable of winning the Bundesliga as well as the Champions League … even though they lost both feats to Munich last season.
This is the beginning of a new season and Munich has a new challenge as they have to play in a new formation (4-3-3) while being under a new coach, Guardiola, who only knows how to win. Therefore, this team has to defeat Dortmund in tomorrow’s Super Cup match-up.
Dortmund are capable of defeating this team as they are the only side that has truly given the Bavarian team trouble on the field in recent seasons. They will be more than a match for the reigning Super Cup, Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and UCL champions.
