With Arsenal‘s diminutive expenditure looking like it’s behind them, Gunners fans should be excited for their club’s future after they secured German star Mesut Ozil for a club record £42.5 million.

Arsenal indicated leading up to the window, and throughout it, they had funds to unleash, and they did so with the signing of Ozil from Real Madrid on transfer deadline day.

The club is one of the most lucrative in the sport, and Arsenal fans should be excited for the next few seasons in which other star names could arrive to help them challenge for major honors.

Ozil is the trademark ‘number ten’ who looks to cause damage in attacking areas. Jose Mourinho called him the best in the world in this position and also believes Arsenal are title challengers with Ozil on board.

Bizarrely, the chairman of Arsenal’s fiercest rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Daniel Levy, attempted to stop the move after the deal for Gareth Bale to Real Madrid was completed.

Spurs fans are now curious as to what the advantages are in their ‘partnership’ with the Spanish giants, with Real Madrid taking key players from the North London club in the past two summer windows.

Arsenal, who defeated Tottenham in a 1-0 win last Sunday, will be looking to secure Champions League football once again this season.

Of course, their fans want more. And they could get it, given the quality of their midfield. Arsenal are also considered weak in strikers, but this fear has been appeased given the form of Olivier Giroud.
